Today we are looking at the Burris AR-F3 Red Dot Sight. I had this mounted to my CMMG MK9 9mm AR which was experiencing ammo problems and messing up my review. I am very thankful to Burris for their quick shipping time to get this sight to us .

The next few weeks we will have posts by subject: rifles, shotguns, handguns, range gear & EDC, etc. Hope you will stay tuned for all the photos as we use the month of February to post all the photos and wrap up Shot Show 2016.
We want to take a moment and make a small disclaimer. We are posting the photos that our photographer got. We talked to so many people and some of the photos of those booths just didn’t turn out well. The posted photos in no way support one manufacturer over another. With so many people at the show, the lighting, etc, it was just the luck of the shot.
Atticus James is traveling in India for the month of February. You can follow his adventures at AtticusJames.com. In the meantime, he has left all of the photos from Shot Show 2016 for those of us left behind to post for him. (This would explain any issues with photos being mislabeled. Apologies in advance if this happens).
I typically don’t do articles about historical firearms because my knowledge on most of the subjects would not make for good info. I saw this video and since our family owns a 1903 it is something that is close to my heart. My father was given our 1903 rifle by my late grandfather.
The 1903 is an old sporterized Rock Island Armory 1903 A3 that has been used a deer rifle for years. I love the rifle as it is very accurate and just a great .30-06 rifle.
This image found on the http://www.nramuseum.org. shows the similarity to a the modern AR-15 5.56 to .22lr conversion kits in how the bolt has a “shell” to extend into the barrel giving the converted caliber a new chamber.
The cartridge used was a .30-18 auto.
