Front-Facing-Landscape-2

It is a small base that you mount a camera to. The base then tracks a small infrared marker.  It’s purpose was for video conferencing and facetime. The device was developed around the iPhone and iPod. However you can mount small video cameras to it.

I realized immediately the potential of this device to give me a safe way to video the shooter downrange.

Here is a video i just edited with some samples from a few shooting matches these past few months I have had this thing.

A feature I do not use is the wireless mic feature. There is a cable that the base plugs into an iPhone or iPod. The IR marker is also a wireless mic. Sadly it only works with apple products. I decided I would sacrifice sounds of me breathing and talking to myself for wider angle video from my GoPro.

[From The Firearm Blog]

The package starts at $199 so the price is extremely affordable if you are looking to film everything from your training to matches to whatever else  you can think of.

The base tracks the marker using IR which has to be line of sight to track. In some obstacle course shooting matches this base wouldn’t work as well as you might like because the marker could get blocked when you are finding cover.

The base works with any tripod mountable pocket video camera or point and shoot cameras under six ounces.

Gifts for the Gals

With the holidays quickly approaching I know you are starting to think about what to get the women in your life for the holidays. Good news, your search is over! Personally I celebrate Christmas and would love to see any of the items in the article under my tree, so I know the gal shooters in your life will love this stuff.

While doing research one night I came across The Well Armed Women, and they have some very beautiful jewelry that any woman, shooter or not, would absolutely love. I know I do! For the shotgun shooter in your life, look into getting her a “Shot Through the Heart” brass or silver heart pendant with a Winchester 28 gauge shotgun shell, gun and heart charm for $49.99!

So I am so excited about the next product! Urban Moxy is the first conceal carry purse that doesn’t look like an old lady’s bag! Krista, the designer of the purses, knows firsthand what a lady is looking for in a purse for her firearm. This purse is kid friendly and by that I mean it has a special feature called “The locket pocket”, and a dangle chain for easy grab and go. At the moment it does not fit a full size firearm but don’t worry they are working on offering pocket-size options. The purse I fell In love with was the Nicole, it is $99.99. And that is a great deal for such I beautiful purse.

I don’t know about your girl, but I love wearing t-shirts. Off Hand Gear has some of the cutest and comfiest shooting related shirts out there. The shirts are made in America, which I love, by American Apparel. And the cut of the shirts you just can’t beat! They fit amazingly because they are shooting related shirts actually made for women! I personally was getting tired of not having any options other than the men’s shirts at the gun shows!

I know I didn’t showcase that much today for gift ideas but between the three sites I gave you I covered jewelry, purses and clothing. You can’t say I didn’t cover the basics for shopping for a girl! Good luck guys on the shopping, and don’t forget you can get your girl presents anytime of the year and if it’s shooting related… I have to say sir you hit the jackpot on finding a lady that loves shooting, she deserves to get a gift from one of these places.

The bottle openers are made by hand in the USA by Bullets 2 bandages an organization that donates up to 30% of their profits to helping wounded soldiers and their families via the Travis Manion Foundation.

Most of the bullets used have been recovered from firing ranges and testing facilities and given a new jacketed bullet, so none of the bullets were used in combat.

The bottle openers are not considered to be ammunition since they are completely deactivated, so shipping them overseas should not be a problem.

ENDO Tactical Glock AR Stock Adapter

ENDO Tactical Glock AR Stock Adapter

IMG_2148

The ENDO Tactical Glock AR-15 Stock Adapter is just what it says it is an adapter for attaching AR-15 stocks to your Glock pistols.

The stock helps to reduce  the muzzle climb helping to maintain on target for faster follow-up shots.

While reading about this product we found that by attaching this stock you will have to register the weapon as a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR) with the BATFE ($200 tax stamp).

When you buy this it only comes with the adapter (pictured below)  and you will still need to purchase Buffer tube, Shoulder stock, receiver plate and Castle nut.

This will work with the GEN 4 Glock with slight modifications.

The buffer spring and the buffer weight inside the buffer tube is not needed to use the stock.

Model TSA-G compatible with Glock models: G17, G20, G21, G22, G24, G31, G34, G35, G37, and G18 (yes the compensated (C), long (L), or Rough Textured Frame (RTF) version Glock be used with the tactical stock adapter because the frames are the same size).

Using this stock with a G18 (Fully automatic 9mm Glock) would allow the shooter to better manage the pistol in full auto.
