When I last wrote about the M24 (Remington 700) I had found out that Remington was in the trial stages of fielding a new rifle the US military is calling the XM2010 (XM = Experimental Model).


The contract was awarded to Remington late 2010. As of January 2011 The Army begin fielding 250 of the 3,600 Rifles ordered.

The ballistics table on this weapon for Effective range is 1,200 meters which is a 400m increase over the M24A2 chambered in the 7.62NATO round (800m)
