Magnum Research Baby Eagle - A Neutral Review?

Magnum Research Polymer Baby Eagle 9mm

Coming to the conclusion

This was a hard review for me. I try and look to find the pros verse cons when I am doing a review. This is so that I can better explain why, in my opinion, I like or dislike the gun. Then you, the consumer can see what you think when you hold the firearm in this case, the Magnum Research Baby Eagle.

I am not here to tell you how to feel about any firearm. You can make your own judgments and I am just here to present you with mine. If a product leans too heavily on the negative side, I will not release the review.  And of course, if a product is great, I will be the first to sing its praises.

This all explains why this review was so hard for me. For every “pro” I found a “con” and for every “con” I found a “pro”. This ended up balancing the whole thing out and putting it into the “I am neutral on this pistol” category.

Pros and Cons of Baby Eagle

It shoots and recoils great, the grip feels amazing, it holds 15+1 9mm.

The slide is not the best for racking the firearm. The safety is the way to rack the gun giving the chance of putting the gun on safe (see this in action on the video). I believe the mags are overpriced and do not even show a round count like most guns on the market today.

Some of these things you might over look or even think I am crazy for putting in one category or the other. But, as a reviewer, these are what I find to be good and bad.

Overall thoughts:

Would I own the Baby Eagle? Yes. The reason is simple. I want to own all guns but also, because it is one more firearm to train on. It shoots great. I like how it feels and how it recoils, but would it be my daily driver? No because it isn’t my Ford F150… would I carry everyday? No because I have other guns that I prefer more that fit me better.

I didn’t have any failures when it came to shooting. Zero failure to feeds, failures to eject, anything. I would like to push the gun to find where it will fail, but that isn’t a review we do on this channel.

This pistol does not fall into the same category as the Desert Eagle, in the case of it just being a gun worth owning for the sake of owning one. However, I know it has a place as a great gun in someone’s eyes and hands.
