IWI Tavor
The IWI Tavor line of firearms are maybe the BEST bullpup firearms to date. I have owned a Tavor SAR 5.56 Rifle for a few years now. IWI, for lack of a better word, “previewed” the Tavor7 and Tavor TS12 Shotgun in 2018 at SHOT Show. However, neither were released until Q4 of 2019. As a reviewer, I have been dying to get my hands on these two firearms in order to do some real testing for you.
Semi-Auto Shotguns
I love semi-auto shotguns. My personal go-to semi 12 gauge is my Remington 11-87. It just feels great in my hands and pretty much has auto-target tracking for clay pigeons.
The TS12 (which I believe stands for Tavor Shotgun or the full name of IWI Tavor Tavor Shotgun 12) might just push the 11-87 to second place for me. The IWI Tavor TS12 Shotgun has so many awesome things about it that I am just ready to be back outside shooting it right now.
Not giving all the secrets away just yet
This first look is by no means a review of the firearm. I do want to discuss 10 of the things I love about this shotgun.
- Roughly the same size as the Remington Tac-14 or Mossberg Shockwave firearms
- 15 2 ¾ inches shells in the mag tubs PLUS 1 in the chamber for 16 total shells.
- Semi-auto means it makes it more fun than the Kel-Tec KSG
- Recoils with low brass like a dream, and with high brass, it shouldn’t bruise you after shooting all day.
- Fast loading of 2 of the three tubes and a quick change to grab the third tube.
- FAST and non-finger damaging unloading of tubes.
- Changing mag tubes auto loads the next shell so you don’t have to find a button to drop the bolt.
- Full PIC rail on top for all your optical goodies
- Standard Beretta Benelli chokes.
- MSRP $1399 (this COULD have been an easy $2k)
