I love working with Walther firearms. They are a brand that I grew up hearing about since it is the “James Bond” gun. My father and I use to watch any and all Bond films when they were on. To this day, it is a great childhood memory.
Now that I am an adult and I can own firearms, I have learned that they make great guns. To start my Walther collection, I went with their Walther H&K MP5SD .22LR Rifle and Walther Colt 1911 Rail Gun .22LR Pistol.
We have reviewed a few other Walther firearms such as Walther PPQ Q4 Tac 9mm – Suppressor Ready? but today we start our next adventure with Walther on their Q5 Match (polymer frame) pistol.
Optic for the Q5 Match
I mounted the Sightmark Mini Shot M Spec red dot on top of the gun because I wanted to show off the optics-ready feature. I think honestly that I don’t like that the front sight is a red fiber with the red dot. Maybe if I used it more, I would learn to ignore the fiber. In the full review, I am planning to switch back to good old iron sights.
Overall, I love the feel of the Walther Q5 Match in my hands, I LOVE the ambi slide release and how long it is. The three (3) 15-round mags that come in the box are much appreciated.

In the full review, I will be changing the back straps and showing how easy it is to replace the iron sights with a red dot.
