Citadel RSS1 AK Shotgun Review

The Citadel RSS1 Shotgun First Look

Citadel RSS1 Cover

When we first started reviewing the Citadel RSS1, we found that the Winchester white box 12 gauge shells were giving us problems. We have spent months shooting better shells through this and for the most part, we have resolved the problems (see review for solution).

About 1 shell in every white box still gives us a problem. This is due to the white box 12 gauge shells being a lower-powered shell and the RSS1 just really doesn’t like them. If you haven’t seen the first look video,  I will have here posted here. If you are looking for the full review video it will be posted near the bottom.

The Review

I have to say that I love the look of the Citadel RSS1. This AK design looks beast to me. strangely, I think I really fell in love with the looks of the shotgun while I was snapping photos for Instagram, taking the close up shots. I like the black on black look of this shotgun. I think it might even look amazing with blonde furniture.  However, I am going to stick with my black polymer.

One thing I failed to mention in the video, is that the recoil is well managed on this shotgun. This makes the shotgun something you would enjoy doing mag dump after mag dump.  I was not having the best day with my thrower and clays, as you might see. We had to bring my truck over so I could run off its battery since all of my normal thrower batteries were too low for the thrower to work.
